My Thoughts and Prayers Are with Jim Irsay

Like many of you, I was shocked about the situation with Jim Irsay this week. My thoughts and prayers are with the Irsay family.

Well said Coach. Addiction is a disease and although I do believe Mr. Irsay should be punished by the NFL for his actions and in a court of law if he is found guilty of any crimes, the most important thing is that he get the help he appears to need.I hope that this can be a wake up call and will help Mr. Irsay get his life back on track. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Mr. Irsay. Get well soon.

Tony , Remember me ? You called me and then my sister back in 2006 after my sister lost her son to a Prescription Drug Overdose !

105 people die a day in the United States to a Prescription Drug Overdose , There are many families that are fighting this problem.

Not only is the addict effected but each family member as well. The best way to prevent addiction is to educate and keep is person from ever going down that path. I say educate because our youth and adults know no better.

The United States makes up 5 % of the worlds population yet we as a whole take 80% of the Worlds Pain Killers 99 % of the World Vicodin and the list goes on and on and on .

I would love to be able to change the stigma that is associated with addicts because many times it all boils down to just bad choices. I tell people all the time that I use to drink and by doing so I gave myself every opportunity to become and alcoholic yet I never became one , yet a neighbor of mine from his first drink went down an avenue you and I could never imagine.
Many of us make the same bad choices as other but they affect each of us differently. The same could be said about drugs. Many have been prescribed prescriptions for things from dental work to back pain and other various problems , some can take that medicine and walk away others take it and that drug becomes a real vice for them right away

Tony I would hope you would consider doing something to help raise awareness about this problem many are facing today. I contacted family first a few years ago in hopes of getting them and everyone involved and never was able to get anything going.

Thank you for your time and please contact me if you would like to discus this.

There but for the grace of God go I. God calls us to love our brother. Not love his sin but to love him. I thank God for your example of what being a Christian looks like in action.
