Les Ebert is a sports trainer for the Jacksonville Jaguars. His involvement with the sports community and his family are what make him an All Pro Dad.
When Les finished his internship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a Strength Coach, he struggled to find a permanent job in the NFL. So he did what lots of kids just out of college do, he went back to his hometown. Once he got back to Minnesota, he wasn’t sure what his future held. After taking a teaching job at a local High School, he began dating one of the teachers, Rebecca. After nine months of dating Rebecca, Les got a call from the Buccaneers wanting to hire him. So for the next year, Les and Rebecca continued their courtship thousands of miles away from each other. Finally, when Les went home to visit over Easter, he gave Rebecca a basket of plastic eggs. Most of them had candy inside, but one had an engagement ring.
Three months later Les and Rebecca got married in Minnesota and started their life together in Tampa, Florida. After six years of marriage and a move to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Rebecca gave birth to Matthew John Ebert. Les describes witnessing the birth of his son as “Breathtaking. I was flooded with emotions. I kept thinking - I’m a Dad! I was so excited but also nervous.”
Les enjoys all the duties of being a Dad, even changing diapers and helping with the bathing. He and Rebecca agree that raising their son in a Christian environment is the most important thing they can do as parents. “Kids today face many choices and temptations, we want to make sure we teach Matthew the truths of the Bible and raise him God’s way, then pray he will choose the Lord’s way.”As the years pass by, Les’ focus is not only on being the best coach he can be, but on being the best husband and All Pro Dad he can be.
