Shelton Quarles

Shelton Quarles

Shelton Quarles began his professional football career with the Canadian Football League before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997. He became an integral part of the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory in 2002, and holds the record for the longest play in Buccaneers’ history. After retiring from the NFL in 2009, Shelton, his wife Damaris and his children Gabriela, Nicole, Shelton Eugene, Jr. and Carlos Antonio got involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and other charities around Tampa. Regardless of all of his activities, Shelton puts his family first. He and Damaris have a wonderful marriage, citing communication as the key to their success: “Good communication is the best thing for us,” says Shelton. “It helps us to overcome problems and take each other’s feelings into consideration.” According to Shelton, the key to being a good dad is “trying to be tender and loveable at all times. I’m always there for my kids and they know and enjoy that.”
