At a Glance

Walt Harris is one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL today. His quickness and speed are integral to his success. Perhaps being the youngest of 11 children prepared him well for a career with the San Francisco 49ers. Walt had to quickly learn how to outrun his older brothers and sisters when a practical joke was being played (which was quite often in the Harris household).

Walt credits the example of his mother as having a profound impact on his life. "My mom was a hard-working woman," Walt says. "She had a lot of influence in my life." Raising 11 children isn't easy, and Walt saw her steadfast commitment to family day in and day out. That commitment was passed on to Walt, and now he is determined to be a loving husband to his wife Trina and a great dad to his three daughters: Courtney, London and Summer.

When asked if Walt was interested in having 11 or more children, he laughs and says: "Not right away. I've got my hands full right now loving my wife and daughters." Walt says Trina is the "ideal" wife who supports him and is a virtuous example for their children. When Walt is not with his family, he can be found at church, with the Boys and Girls Club or donating time to Meals on Wheels. But home is where his heart is?and that makes him an All Pro Dad.
