15 Great Fall Activities with Your Kids

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean the outdoor fun has to end too. Fall is a great time of year filled with colors and unique outdoor activities for you to enjoy with your kids. Actually, I always love being outside this time of year. There is nothing like being outside for hours in the crisp air as the sun goes down early. Being engaged in fall activities in the cool air and then heading into a cozy house with your kids as the sky turns amber is something you all will always remember.

So take your kids outside and take advantage of the beauty of this season. Here is a list of 15 Fall activities you can enjoy with your kids.

1. Hiking

Find a nearby state park and enjoy a brisk walk or hike.

2. Enjoy s’mores around the fire

Create, or purchase, a fire pit. Make and eat some yummy s’mores!

3. Camping

Combine your hiking with a camping trip, or just camp out in the backyard.

4. High school football games

Friday night lights! Root for your high school team each Friday.

5. Raking leaves and jumping in them

Make raking leaves fun for you and your kids.

6. Pumpkin picking and carving

Pumpkins are just plain fun. Picking, carving, eating the seeds, making pies. Enjoy it all.

7. Backyard football

After watching a game on Friday night, your kids will be eager to get out the next day and play in the backyard.

A fall season must!

If you have teens, this is a fall season must. Go together and try not to get scared.

10. Apple picking

Find an orchard and go pick your own apples. Much like the pumpkin, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the apples when you get home.

11. Corn mazes

You can usually enjoy a hayride and go through a corn maze at the same farm.

12. Drives through the country

The colors of fall are amazing, and kids love them. Take a drive and witness all the various colors.

13. State Fair

Our kids love the state fair. Animals, fried anything, carnival rides, concerts. It’s fun for the whole family.

14. Serve meals on Thanksgiving

Teaching your kids to serve is very important, but it can also be fun and very rewarding especially when doing it as a family.

15. Find (and collect) different colors of leaves

Go through your neighborhood and find as many different leaves and colors as you can. See how many different colors you can collect.
