Our Top 3 Parenting Books and Why

What are you willing to do to become a better father?

According to statisticsbrain.com 80% of U.S. families did not buy one single book this year. The average amount of time U.S. families spend reading is falling and the national reading comprehension is quickly eroding, too.

Reading is really important for you and your child. So, put an end to the trend and buy a book. We recommend starting with a book that will help you become an even better parent. At All Pro Dad we read a lot because we want to provide you with well researched information on the family. We’ve created a list of books for parenting recommended by our staff.

Remember, school is never out for the Pro. Pick up a couple of these books and turn the page in your relationships.

1. “Have a New Kid by Friday” By Kevin Lehman

“My wife and I have gone through this one together. Yes, the title is more of a marketing ploy than actual reality (he suggests what some would consider a radical change in parenting style, and that cannot happen in 5 days). Nevertheless, the ideas were simple and he has a great Q & A section that takes up about ¾ of the book with practical parenting tips that are arranged alphabetically by topic.” – Andy Mayer

2. “Growing Kids God’s Way” By Anne Marie Ezzo

“We found this book and took the class 14 years ago. We went from parenting by the seat of your pants to parenting God’s way – and what a change. While my children aren’t perfect, they do understand what we (and God) expect of them, especially within the family. I pray it will pay dividends for generations to come.” – George Woods

3. “All Pro Dad” By Mark Merrill

“This book is a great read and gives great advice for men who want practical tips for becoming better fathers. It’s written in a way that men can relate to, and the sincerity of the author really comes through. The author also makes it very clear that a father’s main mission in life really has to be developing a strong relationship with his children. Excellent book!” – Nancy
