If you are looking to make a powerful difference in the lives of families, a great place to start is at your child’s school. Become an All Pro Dad’s Day Team Captain for us and lead a monthly father/child breakfast that will inspire, create fun memories, and strengthen family relationships. Learn more about this outstanding program from Tony Dungy. We also have a fantastic initiative for mothers and children called iMOM Morning for your wife to consider.

Parental involvement is the key to a child’s success in education, which is why All Pro Dad’s Day and iMOM Morning are perfect programs for your family to start at your school. Be a hero to your kids and help other families flourish. And we’re delighted to say our partner, the National PTA, also believes passionately in parental involvement and tirelessly advocates for it. It’s the National PTA’s birthday today (they’re 115 years old!) and they’re a perfect organization for you to work with to help you help families.

Huddle up with your children tonight and ask them: Will you have breakfast with me once a month at your school?

Former British Prime Minister William Gladstone commented: “Tell me what your young men are doing on Sundays and I will tell you what the future of England will be.” Over 100 years later, the same holds true for America. Making church a priority for your family instills in your children the central importance and benefit of faith and its moral teachings.

According to the University of North Carolina National Study of Youth and Religion, children who attend church regularly are less likely to get involved in drugs and alcohol and are more likely to go to college. Couples who go to church regularly are less likely to get divorced. And, if drawing closer to God is what the purpose of life truly is, there’s no better place to do it than a true house of worship.

It can be especially tough to get adolescents into church, so here are 3 ways to encourage your teens to worship. And if you are not going to church, these folks have some interesting thoughts to share with you.

Huddle up and ask your kids tonight: Where should we go to church this weekend?

Curious if Valentine’s Day is more than just a Hallmark invention? It actually has some very inspirational roots. In the third century, the Roman Empire was ruled by Emperor Claudius II Gothicus. He was nicknamed Claudius the Cruel because of his harsh leadership and his tendency for getting into wars. Claudius wanted to be more war-focused, so he canceled all marriages and engagements in Rome so men, in his mind, would be more battle-ready. Thousands of couples saw their hopes of matrimony dashed by the single act of a tyrant. And no one seemed interested in standing up to the emperor.

But a simple Christian pastor named Valentine did come forward and stood up for love. He began to secretly marry soldiers before they went off to war, despite the emperor’s orders. In 269, Emperor Claudius found out about the secret ceremonies. He had Valentine thrown into prison and deemed that he would be put to death.

Here is the rest of the real story behind Valentine’s Day. And today is the perfect day to make sure your spouse knows she’s gorgeous. Here are 10 ways to make your wife feel beautiful.
