3 Ways to Raise Successful Kids

What if this was your fatherhood resume? Your kids have four Super Bowl appearances, four Super Bowl rings, four NFL MVP awards, and 15 Pro Bowls. You could say when raising kids, you prepared them to be successful in the paths they chose in life.

That fatherhood resume belongs to Archie Manning, father of Peyton and Eli. You may not raise great NFL quarterbacks, but you can raise great kids who become successful in life. Here are 3 ways for raising successful kids.

1. Teach contentment.

A child who learns contentment will find joy in all circumstances.

Teaching your kids to be content in all situations will prepare them for all they may face in life. A child who learns contentment will find joy in all circumstances. They’ll be happy with great success as well as temporary setbacks, functioning well in either situation. A child without contentment will be unhappy their entire life because they will never find satisfaction.

2. Build confidence.

Encourage your kids in all circumstances. Your encouragement will build their self-esteem and help them feel they are worth something. And because of this, they will put their hearts and minds to the task at hand.

3. Develop work ethic.

One of my favorite quotes and something I say to my kids is, “Do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, the best way it can be done, and do it like that every time.” It basically means give all you have into the task you have in front of you every single time. Peyton Manning is known for his work ethic, which I don’t doubt is one of the reasons he has been so successful.

Huddle up with your kids and ask, “When you think of a successful person who comes to mind and why?”
