Charlie Ward

Charlie Ward received the Heisman award for his time playing football at Florida State University but chose to play professional basketball for the Knicks. He is a great family man who loves his wife Tonja and being an All Pro Dad to his three kids, Hope, Josh, and Caleb.

Charlie Ward excelled in both football and basketball at Florida State University. In 1993, he won the Heisman Trophy while quarterbacking the football team to a National Championship. However, after college he chose to play professional basketball with the New York Knicks.

Charlie says his favorite thing about All Pro Dad is the “opportunity to share his story with men on the importance of being involved with their kids. Having a father at home and involved—give an example of being a great dad.” And when it comes to marriage, he says, “Communication is the key to working through issues. Be willing to love your wife unconditionally and establish that divorce is not an option.”

Charlie has been married to his wife, Tonja, for 20 years. He and Tonja currently reside in Pensacola, Florida with their three kids, Hope (12), Josh (7), and Caleb (3).
