Tom Flick

Tom Flick

Tom Flick met his wife Molly in high school – he was playing sports and she was a statistician and a cheerleader. They were friends first and both ended up going to University of Washington where they continued their roles – she was cheerleader and he was the QB. After Tom went into the NFL they started long distance dating. In 1983 while playing with the New England Patriots, Tom’s life was revolutionized as he came to faith in Jesus Christ during a time of injury and a bout of loneliness. Soon after, Tom asked Molly to marry him. Even though Tom has been a starting quarterback on Monday Night Football and in two Rose Bowl games, the greatest experience in his life is being a father. When his first child Joe was born, he described it as seeing one of God’s miracles firsthand. As his kids have grown, his love for them reminds him of God’s love for us. He stresses the importance of parental relationships to children – being a parent first and a friend second. He shows his love through open communication and spending time – quantity time, not just quality time – with his family. He and his kids, Joe and Jennifer, love bike riding, fly fishing, skiing and just hanging out together.
