What Does Tony Dungy Fear?

From time to time, people ask me what I fear. I typically answer that question by turning to the Bible, which tells us not to fear. In fact, there is a verse that says, “Perfect love casts out all fear.” But we are all human and dealing with fear can be difficult.

I’ve had to deal with plenty of fears over the years, but there is one I’ve had on my mind lately. Here is one of my biggest fears right now and how I’m dealing with it.

I fear our country and where we are going.

I’m afraid we are going to be a society that doesn’t love and embrace one another. I am fearful of the type of country my kids and grandkids may live in.

How do I handle that fear?

One of the best things to do when you experience fear is to pray.

One of the best things to do when you experience fear is to pray. I ask God to take that fear from me and then to show me what I can do to make things better. Those are the ways I have learned to overcome fear. So yes, I am worried about our country. But I am putting it in God’s hands and doing my part to try to improve the situation.
