The Best Ways to Spend Time with Kids When Life is Busy

The number one thing I think for a parent is spending time with kids. That’s how you are going to demonstrate that you love them. Getting the time with kids becomes difficult as schedules become hectic or job demands come upon you. When you have to be away from home for a considerable amount of time, how can you spend time with your kids and show them how much they mean to you?

Here are some ways I spend time with my kids when life is busy.

Bring Them to Work

Sometimes I have been able to take my kids to work with me. I have been able to enjoy some time with them there. However, I realize that that is not an option for everyone.

Ask Them What They Want to Do

When I get home, especially when I have been away for a while, I have to ask each child what is important to them. I ask them what they would want to do with me. Even if it isn’t the most fun thing for me, doing it for the kids is something special. Going to Chuck E. Cheese is not the first thing I would choose to do when I come home from a trip, but it is important to them. It can be going out in the backyard, playing ball, running around, or swinging on the swing set. Remember, it doesn’t have to be anything fantastic, it’s only a matter of finding what’s important to them. When you zero in on that you are going connect with your kids in a powerful way.
