Walking

Since starting my new broadcasting job for NBC’s Football Night in America, there are times when I’m away from home and can’t make it to church with my family; so we’ve really made it a priority to go to Wednesday evening church service together.  Then on the Sundays when I can’t get to a church service, I try to get up early, read my bible, and take a walk.

When I’m out walking, I pray and thank God for all the ways He’s blessed our family. I enjoy those walks and communicating with the Lord that way. It’s not the same as worshiping in church with my wife and children, but it does allow me to still focus on what’s really important in life.  God usually lets me find a nice setting to walk in, and this past Sunday it was Central Park.  While I was there, just after sunrise, I got a great view of Midtown Manhattan; just another thing to be thankful for.
